I went to my Dermatologist because i was concerned about my recent hair loss. He told me i didnt look too bad and to use rogaine if I was concerned. I have been using it for a month and I know thats too soon to tell but from everything i have read it does not work on the hairline above the temples and that is where the hairloss is visible. i may...
Dr.Rassman, you’ve written much about dermatitis and hair loss. It seems that in your opinion even the worst case of sebhorrheic dermatitis (excessive plaque, high levels of sebum, chronic flaking, bleeding etc.) doesn’t contribute directly to hair loss – especially of the patterned kind. However many people out there believe the...
I read one of your articles that state clogged pores, poor circulation and excessive seb. oil does not contribute to hair loss. I am experiencing hair loss, I was diagnosed with seborreah dermatitis…..did my healthcare provider provide me with inaccurate information regarding my hair loss “ Seborrheic dermatitis is a common, inflammatory...
Dr Rassman I am suffering from recurring Seborrheic dermatitis since 2 years, now my age is 26. I never had any hair problem before. I feel fine while on medicines but as soon as I stop taking medicines itching in scalp resumes and skin starts flaking and scaling again. I have spent lots of money and time with discomfort due to itchy scalp. Is there...
Could the obesity be contributing to the baldness? Has anyone noticed that some obese people tend to have lots of wiry body hair in places other than the chest such as the back, shoulders, and arms. And overweight women tend to grow lots of facial hair.. perhaps the same hormones increasing body hair increases the risk of baldness??? Just a thought.....
Hello Doctor, My hair loss pattern is probably a NW3 and I have little to no miniaturization. I am in my early twenties. I went for a consultation about 7 weeks ago and was told to hold on to take Propecia. My hair loss keeps getting worse. I keep losing hairs and are not growing back. Also, on the sides there does not seem to have the same fullness...
Hello, I have some questions. I am a 36 year old female who has had hair shedding since my 20’s (my dad lost his hair at 21). I have all the signs of androgenic alopecia. However, I use to have alot of hair so it didn’t cause me much concern until the last few years. At the age of 30, I lived overseas and took the Birth Control Pill,...

Snippet from the article: Timothy Syed Andersson billed himself as dermatologist to the stars. Hi Doctor, I have written to you before about my hairline; I was about to make my TV debut a year ago and was a little freaked out about my hair. My hairline started maturing when I was about 15 and at age 17 all recession stopped. I had some hairs along the edge and corners of the hairline that I suspected I would lose one day. About 2yrs ago I...
