Latisse on the Scalp? (Video)

March 2nd, 2010 admin

Dr uses Latisse on scalp. Here is the youtube link I’d consider this as human experimentation and there is no evidence that Latisse (bimatoprost) grows hair on the scalp. It was FDA approved for growing longer eyelashes, but it is not approved for use on the scalp. Could it work? Possibly, but I don’t know why you’d want to be the guinea pig. Aside from potential safety risks in applying it … [ visit site to read more ]

Reader Experience with Latisse on Scalp
I would like to share my experience with latisse. I am 27. I am prone to balding as we have the genes in our family (father, uncle, and grandfather are bald!). However, I have not experienced any balding since I use propecia regularly (only a half a pill every day or every other day) and also use latisse on my scalp every other 2 days. My hair is...
Wearing a Hat After FUE Surgery
Hi there, I am wanting to go for the FUE procedure in Thailand to have 1500 grafts in my crown and two temples. I only have one week of work and have 5 or 6 days to recover before returning to work. I don’t want anyone to notice so i would like to wear a hat or beanie and for health and safety i must wear a safety hat at work. Will this effect...
Bimatoprost on the Scalp?
Dear Dr Rassman, You mentioned bimatoprost a week or so ago. Has anyone you know tried using it for scalp hair growth? Apparently some doctors have been experimenting (see link). As a rule, of course, one should wait for clinical trials. But if, according to the FDA, the drug is safe enough to put in your eyes for glaucoma, surely applying it to...
In the News – Scalp Cooler for Chemo Treatments
Snippet from the article: The machines work by lowering the temperature of the head and scalp by a few degrees before, during and after chemotherapy. This reduction in scalp temperature restricts the amount of blood reaching the hair follicles protecting them from the effects of chemotherapy drugs in the bloodstream, meaning that hair loss is not...
Would Hair Regrow in a Scalp Scar?
(female) I’d had a bald spot since birth, possibly a birthmark and possibly a scar from my extraction. At 20 I had an stapled excision. Now I’m curious, Is hair meant to grow in the area where the staples were, or will there always be a bald line? Is there anything I can do to improve my chances? The general concept you should understand...
Propecia and Avodart on the FDA Safety Probe List
Dear Dr Rassman, First off let me say what a very informative website you have, it’s allayed a lot fears I have had about Propecia which my Doctor in the UK is unable to answer. I’m a Propecia user and have came across this article when browsing Reuters. Link: FDA probes risks of HIV, prostate, other drugs My questions are: Has Propecia...
Michael’s Sunburned Scalp
A couple weeks ago I got a pretty nasty sun burn on my face, arms and, yes, my scalp. I wasn’t expecting to be in the sun for very long but somehow, before I knew it, a few hours had passed and all of a sudden I felt the stinging burn setting in! I spent the first week applying aloe gel on all burned areas including my scalp, I wasn’t sure exactly...
Scalp Med Exposed! Treatment for Hair Loss
When flipping through the channels on TV late at night, I sometimes get sucked into the Scalp Med infomercials promising a new thick head of hair.  It also claims to be FDA approved.  Is this the hair loss cure we’ve all been waiting for? Scalp Med infomercials are very popular this time of year, especially as  Read More →
Diffuse Hair Loss All Over My Scalp!
Hi, for the last ten months I’ve been having diffuse hair loss all over my scalp. Both top and sides of my head. My hair line has not receded. Within these ten months, I would say that I’ve lost about 60% or more of my total hair. All of the hairs have the small white bulb at the end. I’ve gone to a dermatologist and he suggested...
Can Applying Topical Green Tea To The Scalp Help Fight Hair Loss?
Although the topic of green tea as a hair loss remedy is a popular subject, few discussions focus on the tea as a topical therapy. Because of this, many wonder if applying green tea to the scalp can help slow or reverse androgenetic alopecia or male pattern baldness. According to a study conducted at the Seoul  Read More →
