I Am Worried About Becoming Propecia Dependent
Hello! Congratulations for the great insight that you give with your blog. I’m probably hopping on the Propecia bandwagon and would like to know your clinical experience with it concerning side effects. Do many patients discontinue it after some time? I know the whole debate about Propecia’s safeness, for me it’s probably more of...
Do You Think the Iron Supplement or Minoxidil Contributed to My Regrowth?
I’m a 24 year old male and have microcytic anemia (most likely) due to iron deficiency. I had been able to halt my MPB hair loss by taking finasteride (1mg) since age 18, however experienced rapid shedding about nine months ago. To stop the hair loss, I added minoxidil 5% to my regimen and started taking ferrous gluconate tablets for my anemia....
Propecia and the Morning Wood
This blog is an excellent resource; I studied it extensively and used it to decide on Propecia as a course of action 3 years ago. I have a question with respect to Propecia and nocturnal erections. You mentioned in a previous post that, “the lack of morning erections is a known problem with Propecia.” Why is Propecia associated with lower...
Saw Palmetto Claims, Finasteride Pricing
Dr. Rassman other than stating that sal palmentto has not been proven to block DHT. Do you have a professional opinion to the clams of many who have benefited from taking Sal Palmentto?I have been taking Propecia for years and stopped hair loss. However I must cease buying Propecia due to economics and have been looking for a clear honest opinion....
Taking Trinovin with Finasteride?
Hello Doctor, I am 46, I’ve been on Proscar (cut in quarters, every second day) for 3 yrs now with good results in halting further loss & slight only thickening in the crown. Did Finasteride Make Me Stutter?
Hi Dr. Rassman, I want to start off by thanking you for acknowledging and attempting to help people in what can be such a stressful and consuming problem for people. My question is in regards to the possible mental side effects of finasteride. I understand that you have touched on this in the past, but I was wondering if you could say based on your...
Michael- Life After Stitches!
8/15/09- 10 days after the Bosley procedure WOW how much better I slept without the stitches! Still not perfect but much, much better. Shedding After Switching from 1mg to 1.25mg Finasteride
It seems like you have prescribed 1.25 mg of Finasteride (Proscar cut in fourths) to many people who were previously taking 1 mg Propecia. Have any of these people expressed concerns of temporary increased shedding after this switch? Do you believe that its possible that such a small increase in Finasteride could be the cause of increased shedding?...

Rogaine Half-Life?
Rogaine Half-Life?
Doc, I read that Rogaine has a half-life of about 22 hours in skin. Assuming you have no side effects from applying it all at once, could you apply double the recommended amount once per day and have the same effect? Minoxidil was originally a not-that-great oral high blood pressure medication called Loniten. The results varied in the treatment...
