Density All Over the Scalp
First off, great site doc. Very helpful. My question is about hair density and thickness. Say one buzzes their hair, should they expect the density and thickness of the hair to be the same over the whole head or are the backs and sides of the head thicker than the top of the scalp, generally? Thanks, doc! If you’re not balding, the density should be the same all over the head. If you are balding, density will vary with the pattern of genetic balding. Of … [ visit site to read more ]

I’ll keep this short and sweet. I’ve been gradually losing hair for 6 years. My temple area is very thin and my crown is somewhat thin. Can I benefit from Propecia since I’ve been losing hair for 5+ years? Thanks! I’ll keep it short and sweet as well. I don’t know the sure answer to your question, because if you don’t...
Dr. do you have pictures to show what a hair transplant may look like for someone who has very fine hair? I may need as many as 1000-1500 grafts at my age of 51. My concern is my hair thickness. I believe my donor hair density is ‘average’ but not thick in caliber. Thank you Many men have very fine hair. Hair thickness will affect the...
This hair loss question was answered by Dr. Glenn Charles of Florida who is a member of the Coalition of Independent Hair Restoration Physicians. His professional answer is below. In the past I have been told that a hair density of 50 grafts per cm2 should not compromise graft survival. However, I was wondering if transplanting hair at 55

I would like to share my experience with latisse. I am 27. I am prone to balding as we have the genes in our family (father, uncle, and grandfather are bald!). However, I have not experienced any balding since I use propecia regularly (only a half a pill every day or every other day) and also use latisse on my scalp every other 2 days. My hair is...
If you don’t have enough density to cover a full Norwood 6 with a transplant, what is your opinion of doing light coverage and then using Toppik and/or other concealers (for life) in order to give the appearance of more hair? I’ve posted a couple cases about this. Those with very fine hair will have a harder time obtaining coverage,...
Snippet from the article: The machines work by lowering the temperature of the head and scalp by a few degrees before, during and after chemotherapy. This reduction in scalp temperature restricts the amount of blood reaching the hair follicles protecting them from the effects of chemotherapy drugs in the bloodstream, meaning that hair loss is not...
Hereditary hair loss in women is more common than most of us seem to think. At first look, it may not be as visible as it is in men due to its different pattern but it is no less challenging to treat than male pattern baldness. The typical female balding pattern is a diffuse hair loss affecting almost the entire scalp, although the thinning is more...
A recently published clinical study from Iran shows that topical finasteride in the form of a topical gel is as effective in treating male pattern baldness as oral use of this drug. This double blind, randomized clinical trial was conducted over a period of 6 months on 45 male subjects who had been balding for 1.5 – 2 years. Serial measurements...
Dear Dr Rassman Question about Monistat Vaginal Cream. I have read that this is helping woman to thicken there scalp hair. Is there any truth to this and if so can you tell me how it works and can it be of any help to men? Thanks Monistat is used to treat fungal infections in the moist vagina which, in some women, … [ visit site to read...
Dr uses Latisse on scalp. Here is the youtube link I’d consider this as human experimentation and there is no evidence that Latisse (bimatoprost) grows hair on the scalp. It was FDA approved for growing longer eyelashes, but it is not approved for use on the scalp. Could it work? Possibly, but I don’t know why you’d want to be the...

There are now 1 million industrial robots toiling around the world, and Japan is where they’re the thickest on the ground. It has 295 of these electromechanical marvels for every 10 000 manufacturing workers—a robot density almost 10 times the world average and nearly twice that of Singapore (169), South Korea (164), and Germany (163).

Hard drive technology wins the 2007 Nobel Prize for physics
[Hardware]
Pioneering work on magnetic materials in the 1980 lead to the discovery of the phenomena known as giant magnetoresistance. This, in turn, rapidly led to ultra high density magnetic storage read heads that are used in today's hard drives. The discoverers of this phenomena are awarded the 2007 Nobel Prize in physics.
