September 30, 2009 I started noticing in the last few days that very fine hair is starting to grow, specifically in my “receding” area. I am curious to see how fast it starts to fill in. I’ve had no pain or any strange sensations for a while now, other than slight numbness in the crown area. It’s weird, not something I think about unless I touch that area of my scalp and of course realize the slight loss of sensation. Hopefully soon it will be back to normal. -Michael

Hi Doctor, I had a 1500 FUE session 7 days back. My donor and recipient sites has healed well. Everything looks normal. But since the 3rd day, I have been having a lot of pain in the donor area. Its a burning pain. For some reason it gets better at times and worse for no reason. The whole area, although well healed and looks normal from the outside,...
8/15/09- 10 days after the Bosley procedure WOW how much better I slept without the stitches! Still not perfect but much, much better. I started noticing without the pain meds that my scalp is somewhat numb, pretty much everywhere except below the suture area. This numbness is somewhat expected and according to the folks at Bosley it could last...
I’ve been having strange dreams lately and I am unsure why. The point is that as I was waking up this morning, alarm clock screaming at me to get out of bed, I was dreaming a horrible dream… I was bald but, not totally bald, more like weird patches of complete baldness and some other weird patches of peach fuzz I guess it was sort of like alopecia,...
Dear Dr. Rassman, My boyfriend had a FUE operation using hair both from the back of his head and his chest (all together about 1200 follicular) to cover the toothbrush look of his previous punch graft operations on the frontal part of his head. After less than six months the result was so great that everybody was under the impression that with another...
This question was posed by a hair loss sufferer seeking hair loss help on our hair restoration forum and answered by Dr. Michael Beehner of Saratoga Springs, NY who is one of our recommended hair restoration physicians. Hello Doctor, I am 46, I’ve been on Proscar (cut in quarters, every second day) for 3 yrs now with good results in halting further loss & slight only thickening in the crown. The usual side effects I experience such as no morning erections anymore & only occasional unpredictable ED.I also use generic 5% Minoxidil every night. In Sept...
Most of the conditions I spoke of in my last blog entry are actually still with me – in particular, the numbness and the spotting. The transplanted area is less sensitive now than it was (although not entirely back to normal). But now I’ve entered into a new phase of recovery – my scalp is breaking out.

8/20/09- 20 days after the Bosley procedure Today I started noticing the implanted hair is falling out. The doctor had alerted me that this is normal. Then the follicles lay dormant for a while and will gradually start to regrow within about 3 months, and full results should be effective in 9-12 months. I still have the numbing sensation, but for...
Thankfully I’ve not had any other weird dreams where I am bald, have patchy spots of missing hair or any of that weird stuff. Things seem to be going fine and I am still trying to figure out what exactly I want to do with my hair, grow it out a little, go a bit shorter or keep it about the same length it is currently? For the time being I will...
Hello Dr. Rassman. I got a ht done just under 6 months ago and i’ve noticed that the crown has shown little to no growth while the top front half of my head has shown a significant amount of growth. Could it possibly be the crown is the last place that sees the new hair growth?? the difference between the front and crown is very drastic and...
