Michael’s 6-week haircut

January 19th, 2010 admin

Today I decided to stop and get my first post-surgery hair cut. I go to the same place every time, but the same person doesn’t necessarily cut my hair. This time I had a new stylist that I hadn’t seen before. I warned her that I had a scar and wanted to be sure that the scar was not visible after the cut. I had asked if she had any previous clients that had this type of procedure before.  She said yes but, I am pretty sure she was only saying that because she asked about 100 questions, and of course I told her exactly how my procedure went. She finished cutting my hair (she did a great job)

Music to Michael’s ears: It looks "so natural"
Over the weekend I met up with an old co-worker that moved out of the area about 5 years ago. It was great to see her! I was pretty sure I had told her about my Bosley procedure, but apparently I hadn’t. I met some of her friends when we met up, and one of them overheard my friend and I talking about it. One asked “YOU had it done?” I responded...
Michael Finds a New (and Great!) Barber
Two weeks ago I decided it was past time to get my hair trimmed, as it had been approximately 2 months. I went to what I consider my “regular” place only to find that none of the barbers I have had recently were working, so, I took the first available. I did my normal routine of explaining that I had a scar and that I did not want it visible....
Get a Haircut, Give a Little Hope
Flipping through some old barbershop photos today, I came across a shot of an old client of mine who had the best head of hair I’ve ever seen on a human. Christopher’s hair was incredible — thick, black, and shiny. His shoulder-length mop was the kind of hair men hated him for and women could only wish they had. One day, he came...
Should A Trichophytic Closure be Used In My Hair Transplant Scar Repair Procedure?
This question comes from a member of our Hair Restoration Social Community and Discussion Forums: Six years ago I underwent a follicular unit transplantation (FUT) procedure which resulted in a stretched scar. I’m now investigating a scar repair operation and wondering what type of closure should be used on the new incision? Is a trichophytic...
Would Getting a Hair Transplant Give Me Cloning Priority at NHI?
Dr. Rassman I have an odd question for you. I plan to have a hair transplant with you in the near future. Playing devils advocate here, let’s say that hair cloning is a viable option in five years and the demand would be great. Would having a prior surgery with you give me an advantage of getting this procedure done sooner? (i.e. cutting in...
Using FUE to Conceal the Scar from a Strip Hair Transplant Procedure
If follicular unit grafts from FUE are transplanted into the scar from a strip procedure, how short can the hair be cut without exposing the strip scar? This question, asked on the Hair Restoration Discussion Forum, was answered by recommended hair transplant surgeon Dr. William H. Lindsey of McLean, Virginia: It all depends on the FUT  Read More →
Michael – Looking forward to unveiling his new hairline for old friends
I’m still stuck trying to decide between hairstyles each mornings. It was much simpler when I didn’t have the choice! However, I am so very thrilled with my decision months ago and the opportunity to have Bosley perform this procedure! This has been a great experience in so many ways and every day I am thankful to have regained a bit of my...
Michael, one year later…
Tomorrow is the one year mark of my Bosley procedure, I think back over the last 365 days beginning with the day before, when I was in for my consultation.  How nervous I was and how I imagined the “what if” of every scenario in my head.  The biggest what if to me was “what if it doesn’t work” I guess that’s a normal feeling the day...
Another haircut, another barber
I decided it was time to get another haircut. Previously I had been keeping the sides and back of my hair very short- a 1 or 2 clipper guard- and, sadly, I can no longer do this so it seems to get a bit too long faster than I want. I went to my regular place only to find the gal that cut my hair last time was not working so, I waited for the next...
Seth’s Two-Week Anniversary
OK, it’s officially been two weeks since my hair restoration procedure (a milestone that has less importance this time around, but still).  Read More →
