In March, I’ll be shaving my head to raise funds for childhood cancer research on behalf of The St. Baldrick’s Foundation . Normally, I wear my hair aggressively short and low maintenance. Growing it out will make the shaving more dramatic. Having longer hair is driving me a little nuts. I now have to spend more time styling and maintaining my hair than usual. Lately, I’ve been growing my hair out a bit in preparation for a St. Baldrick’s Foundation fundraiser where I’ll be shaving my head to raise funds for childhood cancer research. Dr Rassman, My question is: does finasteride play any role in maintaining minoxidil dose-dependent hair? I got started on 5% minoxidil topical in early Feb, 2009. My derm prescribed Finasteride oral 1mg/day too, but I did not pursue that medication due to the usual side-effects related concerns. There was an initial minox-induced shed: not a massive...
In recent months, I’ve been receiving a lot of questions about shaving with an old school double-edge razor . Many wet shaving enthusiasts agree that the best shave you can get at home can be obtained by using proper technique with a double-edge razor, badger hair shaving brush, and traditional English shave lather. I agree. I decided to...
Rogaine gives me thicker hair By Tom, age 31, who has been using Rogaine for Men for one year: I am not sure whether other readers find it positive or not but one aspect of Rogaine for men that I like is the fact that it dries so slowly. It makes me feel that its effects last longer when compared with other fast-drying minoxidil lotions. I have used...
